As a sod installation subcontractor on the City of Miami’s Morningside Park Waterfront Improvements project, Sunshine Sod coordinated turf procurement and logistics and installed approximately 600 pallets of CitraZoy® Zoysiagrass, along with additional Seashore Paspalum in designated waterfront areas. The turf scope unfolded in phases over approximately six months.
The park sits beside Biscayne Bay in Miami. Sunshine Sod’s work covered the turf portion of the broader public improvement project—not the full City project—and did not include grading, irrigation, seawall, drainage, elevation, shoreline, or baywalk construction.
A large, phased turf installation
The approximately 600-pallet quantity applies to CitraZoy only. Seashore Paspalum was installed in addition to that total, but its cultivar and pallet quantity are not documented here. Sunshine Sod’s turf scope included sourcing and procurement coordination, delivery logistics, phased mobilization, installation, fitting, and completion work.

Turf selected for distinct park conditions
CitraZoy® Zoysiagrass formed the primary turf installation. Seashore Paspalum was used in designated waterfront areas where salt exposure and saltwater intrusion are relevant site conditions. Turf selection supported the park’s landscape plan; engineered seawall, elevation, drainage, shoreline, and baywalk improvements—not sod—addressed the project’s flood-resilience goals.
